Family Fun before the Big Wedding!

I had the privilege to photograph this wonderful family a few days before a beautiful wedding took place in Dahlonega, Georgia. There was a mixture of youngster grandkids, parents, grandparentes, and family members who travelled as far as Italy, who were all excited to celebrate the marriage of Aynsley Simpson and Tate Girardeau. Enjoy the pictures!  It never fails, my personal favorites are always the ones with grandkids and grandparents My husband was in the wedding, so I thought it would be fun to get a few snaps at the rehearsal while they were busy practicing. The wedding took place at the Monteluce vineyards. I was blown away at the beautiful setting! They made the perfect choice to say their vows in such a gorgeous setting and have their guests stay in such a great location. We took advantage of being in the mountains and hiked to the Amicalola Falls, tasted the delicious local wine, and soaked in the beautiful mountain views.  The bride and her father I lo

Let's slow down and celebrate a little

In my family, we don't celebrate birthdays for just the one day. We have birthday weeks where we treat every day as a day to celebrate. For us May is packed full of birthdays, Mother's Day, and my parent's wedding anniversary, and we pretty much celebrate the whole month. I wanted to share a few snaps I got from our month of May so far :) Like most dads, mine can't stand having his picture taken, which makes it that much  more fun to photograph him! My nephew and niece signing their Mother's day card for their mama :)  I love how the scattered scribbles and funny looking letters are quite illegible, but they clearly say I love my mama.  John John is two years old. I was actually surprised how he had no fear flying down the slide.  My husband acting as the kid's tour guide through a pretend boat ride.  Imaginations of kids provide me with so much joy. It's very easy to slip into this world and get distracted with things that don't matter. These

Takuya in Georgia | Celebration

Takuya Kamibayashi. We met in the cafeteria freshman year at GCSU. That would have been 2003. My memory slips me, but I recall I was having trouble with the waffle maker. It was close to catching on fire and you were next to me in line, and you starting laughing. And that's how we became friends :) I don't want to forget anything about yesterday, so I'm documenting as quickly as possible to keep these memories in my head and heart always.  It may be another six years before I see you, so this is also my gift to you. It's been six years since I've seen Taki. I met up with him yesterday in Monticello. I decided to take him to Juliette for lunch at Whistle Stop Cafe and to explore the nearby waterfall. It's on the way back to Macon, and Takuya is always ready for some adventure. I'm glad to hear he hasn't seen the movie Fried Green Tomatoes , even though I love the movie, I think it's more fun to create your own experience while you're there rathe

Foster Family Session @ the Fair

I love all of these from my latest session at the Macon fair with the Foster family. The way this couple play and interact with their sweet little Laylah makes me smile so much! I love these three! I was so excited Laylah was wearing jellies. I wish I would have worn some of mine to match her. We all had a great time at the fair. Enjoy these of this happy family! The cute family on the tea cups A little lollipop for little Laylah As you can see, she enjoyed that lollipop from her cheeks to her arms! We were having so much fun, Laylah didn't want to leave
