St. Simons, Christ Church Session

One of my latest shoots took place in St.Simons. Having grown up on the island and now living in Macon, one of the biggest things I miss are the great locations for exploration and photography. Exploring every inch of that island is one of my favorite memories of growing up there. Sitting on top of the Fort Frederica ruins overlooking the marsh is one of the best places to watch the sunset. Not supposed to be there after hours, makes it even more fun :) Sitting under the stars laying in a field near the beach and riding bikes at 2am are priceless activities that were very normal to me. There are so many distinctive and unique places on that tiny island that I love. I couldn't wait to do a shoot back home, and I got to do one with one my very favorite families at Christ Church. It was a true delight to capture these four and their sweet dog, Peace, while I was home for a long weekend. This is a mama who truly loves her family and is raising them up in such a loving and devoted way. The kids show up with no ipods, handheld video games, cell phones, or bad attitudes about having to be photographed. They are happy, sweet, loving kids. This family is such an inspiration to me, it was my honor to take their family portraits. Here are a few of my favorites

silly faces!

I love this!

I've had many people ask me if I have a website, which I do not as of yet. I've decided to post some of my favorite shots from the last few months that took place before I started the blog. This way new people can see more of my work. I wish I could post all of my favorites, but there aren't enough hours in the day! I hope you enjoy these cutie pies :)

I'm so very blessed to be able to work with such wonderful families. I love every opportunity I have been given to share in capturing these special moments. Much, much more to come!

The 2nd Annual Summer Enrichment Camp

I had the most amazing opportunity to work with nineteen children for a week. The children who were selected for this camp are from foster homes, broken families, and other adverse situations.   Each one of these kids startled something inside me.  I love being struck- it's one of the most imporatant things in life,  to be struck by another human being.  It's imporant to me to get out of my own small world, my own relationships, jobs, life.  I'm so thankful for this experience that poured new light into my life. These children go through struggle, conflict, not the rosiest of experiences,  BUT it's like their sweet spirits, smiles, and inner joy  are trying to put the pieces back together.  The mission of the Summer Enrichment Camp is to provide a positive and enriched environment and fulfilling experiences for at risk youth in the Brunswick, Georgia area.  Thank you to everyone who made this camp possible by donating...

A boy and his dog | Frost Photography

When a potential client approaches me in person to talk to be about making pictures of their children, they inevitably want to know about Frost Photography. Some times they have seen my work, some times they have not. The images above convey what I aim to capture. In this case, the shoot was technically over, I was gathering my gear, and I looked up to little Louis playing with his toy airplane with their dog watching nearby. There was nothing that was going to stop me from picking up my camera again. Moments like this is what I live for as a photographer. I often describe my style and perspective as unposed, real, and timeless. Those are my three attributes I strive for in my work. Ten years from now, I don't want my work to feel dated because I followed a trend. Props and staged settings are extremely prevalent in this day of photography. I'm not knocking those styles because many of them are done really well and turn out great. I just am not that photographer....

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you | Frost Photography

Happy Mother's Day to this incredible, strong, and gorgeous inside and out mama! Esteé and Peace are so very dear to my heart. It is just incredible how God gives you exactly the people who you need at the perfect time.  Esteé and I met at church and I've felt like I have this new amazing best friend ever since. These two beautiful girls have breathed such light into my life, they are truly like long lost family. The feeling of being at home with a friend is so rare and special, and it is something I treasure.  As you will see, these two are naturals in front of the camera. Their free and happy spirits combined with the lush green setting, horse stables, and wildflowers made for some of my all time favorite photographs. Get ready for some adorable belly laughs, mama daughter cuddles, and some guitar playing by the water.  As you probably know I love capturing my subjects doing life in their every day setting. Esteé and Peace both love music and have recently st...
